It can be daunting coming to church on a Sunday morning if you’ve never been before or if you haven’t been for a while. We try to make our services as welcoming as possible to everyone, whether you are here for the first time or if you have been coming for years. We gather on a Sunday in the morning to worship and be together. The style is relaxed and contemporary, with an emphasis on freedom and intimacy. The format is varied, sometimes including dance, banners & flags, drama and music from our choir. Families are most welcome and kids are free to be themselves. Kids Church is provided as a program of children’s groups and activities during the morning meeting, including a creche for the under threes. For more information please see the kids church page.
If you would like to come to church but don’t want to come by yourself or you are coming for the first time a member of our welcome team can show you around and introduce you to other people. We are very keen to make sure that everyone who comes to Opengate feels welcomed so if you would like someone to meet you at church then telephone or email the office and we can arrange that for you.
The morning service starts with coffee, served from 9.45. before coming together to worship at 10.15 with the Kids church open from 10. You can expect a warm welcome, great worship, an impacting preach and a friendly bunch of people gathering to learn more about God. We have a fantastic programme for the kids for ages 0–15. Children from 5 and up can be dropped off at Kids church from 10am giving you time for a coffee before the service. There is a creche for the under 3s from 10.15 onwards. You are welcome to keep under 3s with you during the service or stay with them in the creche. Children aged 3-5yrs join in the service for the first 15 to 20 minutes and leave fro their own class. All children must be registered so, if this is your first time at the church, please take them to their class so that we can get their details.
After the main meeting finishes there may be opportunity for prayer otherwise tea, coffee and biscuits will be served in the adjacent hall.
