Holy, Part 2: Whole Hearted
Jamie Fredricks
What is it to live a 'Holy' life, or to 'be Holy'? In the second part of this brief exploration, Jamie looks at the New Testament communities that were described as 'Saints' despite their failings. Beyond the Pharisee's narrow definition of moral perfection, Holiness is rather a call to distinctive, purposeful and focussed kingdom living.

Holy, Part 1: Wholly Different
Jamie Fredricks
This message kicks of a new irregular series which will explore some of the big 'God Words', key concepts and ideas of the Christian faith. Jamie starts by exploring 'Holy', a word that can seem to drive us away rather than draw us us in. Is Holiness just an impossible standard, a stick to beat us with? Or is it an invitation to experience the transformative power of God and participate in his ongoing creation. PLEASE NOTE: We apologise for the poor quality of this audio recording.

Revolting... Priorities
Nick Drury
Whilst our desire for ’stuff’ has been intensified over the past century through the rise of consumerism, the prioritising of material possessions was just as relevant in Jesus’ time when he preached his Sermon on the Mount. This week, Nick looks at four passages that call for us to prioritise our love for God and others over our love for ’treasures on earth’.

Revolting... Relationships
Jamie Fredricks
Relationships are at the heart of what it means to be human. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus gives a master class to his disciples in the art of creating relationships rooted in non-judgement, humility, empathy and love. This is in sharp contrast with the way of the Pharisees, characterised as the 'broad way' of conventional religiosity. Jamie explores how Jesus' 'narrow way' instead rests on authenticity and a faithfulness in God's power to make the difference.

Revolting... Character
Nick Drury
In Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, having 'good character' is proclaimed as an essential element of being a disciple. In this week’s talk, Nick highlights how the qualities of humility, integrity and authenticity can help our outward expressions and our inward realities become more in line with one another and with God’s ways.

Revolting... Love
Jamie Fredricks
Many people have seen the 'Sermon on the Mount' as the centrepiece of Jesus' teaching about the kingdom of heaven, and what it is to be one of his disciples. What he unpacks is a revolution that turns the way of the world on its head! And we are invited to be part of that revolt: To cast aside the power of religion and instead live in the way of world transforming love.

Tree of Life pt4: Tree Houses
Nick Drury
As Christians we have a future hope in spending eternity with Jesus. However, Nick suggests that our understanding of end times has led to a theology of evacuation, where our responsibility for creation care is limited to the idea that earth is only temporary, and life in the age to come will be ’somewhere else’. In contrast, the Bible points to an age to come that is earthy, where a new heaven and a new earth will come together, and how we are called to participate in God’s Kingdom being brought to earth.

Tree of Life pt3: Seasons
Jamie Fredricks
In the Creation stories of Genesis 1 & 2, there is a powerful sense of structure, shape and rhythm. The Sabbath rest gives definition to Creation, and is born out again and again in Scripture and experience as essential if we are to live lives of fullness and balance. In this week's talk, Jamie explores how recognising the seasons and how they relate to space, time and things is fundamental to our well being.

Tree of Life pt2: Branches
Nick Drury
Gaining a more complete understanding of our relationship with God can help us connect with creation on a deeper level. Through the theme of incarnation, Nick suggests that we are called to care for our world because it is intrinsically entwined in Christ. If we embrace the sacredness of our world then how will this challenge our outlook towards it?
